Temple Bar Gate

formed a Gate House to mark the boundary of the City of London in the West.

The gate house  attributed Christopher Wren built in  Portland stone
1669 and 1672,
 by Thomas Knight, the City Mason, and Joshua Marshall, Master of the Mason's Company and King's Master Mason, while John Bushnell carved the statues

 The Bar was taken down 1878 and the 2,700 stones stored until it was rebuilt in Theobalds Park in Hertfordshire to form a gate way In 1984 the City of London Corporation bought the Bar for an investment of £1.00 and re built the Bar in Paternoster Square, re opening 10th November 2022.
