The NET Patient Foundation was formed at the start of
2006 and is the only charity in the UK & Ireland dedicated to providing
support and information to people affected by neuroendocrine cancers.
The Foundation has the following aims:
To provide support, education and information to anyone affected by
neuroendocrine cancers.
To advocate for neuroendocrine cancer patients so they may achieve the
best possible outcomes.
To encourage standardised care for all NET cancer patients.
To provide community supportive care to patients and their carers or
family members.
To raise awareness of NET cancers throughout the UK.
To raise funds for clinical and translational research projects.
When the Royal Free Hospital was founded in 1828 it
relied entirely on charitable donations not just for day to day running
but to develop the pioneering research for which it has become famous.
The hospital has always accepted charitable donations and Legacies and
today the Royal Free Charity manages these donations and includes Barnet
Hospital Charity and Chase Farm Charity, supporting all areas of the
Royal Free London NHSFT.
Donations allow us to invest over one million per year on new equipment,
from the cutting edge to the day to day.
In addition to the smaller items, such as slippers and emergency care
packs, we provide larger pieces of equipment for use on the wards and in
research. This funding is over and above anything the NHS is required to
provide.
By purchasing additional equipment we are able to help reduce patient
waiting times for treatment and results. We also fund cutting-edge
equipment to increase the diagnostic tools available that will provide
patients with the most advanced treatment and help to improve outcomes.
Data gathered supports research and development of future treatments and
diagnosis.
