We are delighted to welcome you to the fourth
Sheriffs‘ Ball, which is once again being held in the historic
Guildhall. Tonight is one of those ‘not to be missed‘ events with fine
dining. energetic dancing and a little magic throughout the evening.
Our sincere thanks to The Lord Mayor's Appeal for orchestrating the
evening and to our committee of Mary Foster. Stephen Bernhard and
William Bartholomew. Many thanks to everyone who has donated an auction
prize, organised a table or made a donation. We have a fa ntasiic range
of auction prizes and we will test your knowledge with our round of
‘True or False‘.
The Lord Mayors Appeal is now two years into its support of three
amazing charities — Place2Be. OnSide Youth Zones and Samaritans. Please
dig deep and help us raise a really impressive sum to enable these
charities to continue their important work. Our special thanks to Amanda
and Peter for being fantastic Consorts and to our families and friends
who have supported us along the way. The last year has been one we will
always remember: from visiting Cubs and Scouts. schools and prisons to
speaking on diversity, promoting UK business at home and abroad and not
forgetting our horse ride through the City of London. It has been a
privilege to serve as Sheriffs. We are hugely grateful for the wide-ra
nging support we have received at every turn.

wonderful night and that this event will be firmly marked in your
calendar for years to come.
