British Army. For 70 years, they have been helping soldiers, veterans and
their families in times of real need.
They help with housing, mobility, wellbeing and education. They are the
backbone of welfare support for the Army. They receive no government help
and rely on donations to care for some of the most vulnerable in society.
The Lord Mayor's Big Curry Lunch is a flagship event for The Soldiers'
Charity where Guests in the Guildhall are joined by UK Business Leaders,
Politicians, Senior Officers of the British Army and the Royal Guest of

The Trust's main objectives are to advance education and promote research in water and environmental management. It has an active university programme, funding bursaries for taught Masters level students in 11 universities and partnering some of the most accomplished research units in the UK. The schools programme includes a pupils' prizes scheme for excellence in science and two medium term projects to support science education and practical outdoor skills for pupils with special needs. It also provides regular support to Maidstone Sea Cadets. As a small charity, the Trust supports projects with a significant multiplier effect to maximise the funding impact.
Every year The Worshipful Company of Hackney Carriage Drivers organise a three-day trip of a lifetime to Disneyland Paris for children with life threatening diseases. A convoy of over 100 London taxis, escorted by the Police, London Ambulance Service and the AA assist throughout the trip. Now planning the nineteenth event to Disneyland Paris, it is only by the support of the Livery, general public and corporate sponsors that they are able to undertake such an event. These families are unable to take holidays alone because of the children' s health. Support is provided to give them peace of mind and enjoy a break from treatment and therapy. The drivers give their vehicles and time freely and the event is organised by unpaid volunteers. 3500 children have benefited from the trip.
The Wet 10 are an informal group of both users and
suppliers of water. We all depend on water in one way or another and all
share a common concern for the long term health of the water environment.
Our aim is to promote awareness, to contribute to debate and to be an
influence for the good in this key area.
